Safaricom plc: Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom

The Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom Football Tournament, a national football tournament, increased awareness across Kenya by launching a series of press releases and feature stories, in addition to offering a trip to London as the grand prize.

  • Chapa Dimba na Safaricom is a grassroots football challenge that aims at scouting and developing the finest football talent, and nurture Kenya's next generation of football stars.
In partnership with Football Kenya Federation, Chapa Dimba targeted youth between the age of 16-20 years. This is in line with the company's tagline of Twaweza-when we come together great things happen. The winning teams pocketed KES 1 Million ($ 10,000) in cash prize and embarked on a mentorship training in London, under the tutelage of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and Kenya National Team player, Victor Wanyama.
